The Philharmonic Orchestra of Indianapolis teams up with members of Indy's Intimate Opera to present a special look into the music of early 20th century operettas by Victor Herbert and Sigmund Romberg. These catchy works are shown to provide a gateway to the American musical as the Philharmonic/Intimate Opera performs selections from Leonard Bernstein's 1950s stage music, Sunday, March 19th at 3:00. Featured will be songs, duets and quartets from Romberg's The New Moon, The Student Prince, The Desert Song, Herbert's Naughty Marietta, The Enchantress, and Bernstein's Wonderful Town, and Candide.
